JVS SUSTAINING FUND
Each JVS contributor is an investor in our mission. For more than a century, JVS has been engaged in the serious business of assisting people in finding a job, changing career direction, or acquiring skills that lead to employment. They are downsized managers and professionals who face a job market shrinking because of computerization and the export of American jobs. They are refugees who are most vulnerable because they have limited language and experience. They are students who need college or post-graduate scholarships to enter their chosen profession. They are youth with disabilities trying to enter the complex world of work. They are older workers who cannot maintain a dignified retirement without supplementing their income. And they are the disadvantaged. During times of economic distress, our costs rise but funding remains flat and this is why we appeal for your support. An investment in JVS may pay unexpected dividends for you, for a loved one, or for someone in need.

JVS ENDOWMENT FOUNDATION
The Endowment Foundation provides income from earned interest to support agency employment and training programs and services critical to the changing needs of the community. An endowment offers a unique opportunity to remember a loved one in perpetuity by naming a program that reflects your beliefs and interests.
JVS currently benefits from two generous endowments. The Herbert and Marjorie Fried Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for people with disabilities employed in vocational training programs. The Duman Microenterprise Center and Loan Fund provides small interest free loans to Jewish entrepreneurs to start or expand a business.
New endowment possibilities include:
- Jewish Employment Network (JEN) provides networking and job search assistance to members of the 67 affiliated congregations.
- Naming JVS' Career Planning Center office in Northbrook.
- New American Center will provide a menu of educational training services and career counseling to refugees and immigrants.
You can leave this legacy through a menu of Continuity Funds specially designed by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago: Unrestricted Endowments, Income for Life, Donor Advised Funds, Agency Endowments, Bequests and other instruments which represent your particular wishes. These funds provide the largest tax deduction allowed by law.
Make a difference by helping others become self-sufficient! For information on these or other endowment opportunities, call Gail Gruen, JVS Executive Vice President, (312) 673-3401.
