COMPUTER CLASS FOR MAY - 216 W. Jackson, Chicago

Description:

Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) Community Technology Centers are dedicated to serving the Downtown (216), Skokie, and Rogers Park Area. The Centers open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m., providing community residents and JVS clients with access to an open computer lab and free access to the Internet.

The Centers are located at 216 W. Jackson (Downtown), 6526 N. California Avenue (Rogers Park), and 5150 West Golf Road (Skokie).  The centers also offer Basic Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite Training.  All trainings are hands-on and include a traditional classroom experience with project-based learning.

PREREQUISITES:  Demonstrated competency through appropriate assessment or earning a grade of “C” or better in Basic Computer Literacy

MAJOR COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Upon successful completion of this course the student will be expected to have knowledge of:

  • Introduction to databases
  • Introduction to objects
  • Getting started in Access
  • Working with data
  • Working with tables
  • Working with forms
  • Sorting and filtering
  • Designing a query
  • More query design options
  • Creating reports
