VOLUNTEERISM
Volunteers are involved in all aspects of the Agency's operations and are a valuable resource to professional staff.
NEWLY ARRIVED RUSSIAN IMMIGRANT PROGRAMS
More than 250 volunteers assist the staff and work directly with clients in career planning, tutoring and assisting refugees to adjust to the community. JVS volunteers tutor new Americans in English language proficiency, provide mentoring, practice job interviewing skills with applicants, provide remedial education and instruct in reading comprehension, serve as teacher aides and provide clerical support. PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS
Members of the business community serve as expert panelists in programs for middle and upper level management professionals and executive clients. They also serve as mentors and provide seminars for young professional level clients engaged in job search. For information call or e-mail .
THE JVS SUSTAINING FUND
Each year JVS touches the lives and helps more than 10,000 individuals. The Jewish Federation and public grants provide funds for many of our basic services, but they simply cannot meet all of our needs. Therefore, we need your help. THE JVS ENDOWMENT FOUNDATION
